My Favorite Highlighters

Today's topic will be about highlighters that I love and have been loyal to for quite some time. There are tons of highlighters out there; drugstore and high end. The ones I will be talking about are ones that I've been using for a long time because I can't get enough of them. I will provide my pictures as well as Google photos so you can see what they actually look like since they're pretty worn. Keep in mind, all of these highlighters are pretty light because I'm super white lol, so if you're pale like me, these are perfect for you. Before I get into it, I also want to note that just because something doesn't say "highlighter" or "illuminator" on it, doesn't mean that it can't be used as one. I have found many eyeshadows and even some lipsticks that can be used to highlight the face and last all day!

First, I will start off with my most absolute favorite, which is the Ofra Cosmetics Iluminating Blush Stripes ($35.) You may know of this brand from their collaborations with YouTubers MannyMUA and Kathleen Lights. Yup, their liquid lipsticks aren't the only thing they have. They also have bronzers, blushes, eyeshadow palettes and more. I won a giveaway that Instagram's @dupethat was doing which included all Ofra makeup. I loved all of the products but the illuminator spoke to me like no other. It is INSANELY pigmented and a little goes a very, very long way. It's been my absolute favorite from the beginning and once I run out I am definitely buying 1 or 2 more. It's all worth the $35 in my opinion.

Next let's move on to NYX Cosmetics illuminator in "Ritualistic" ($9.) This highlighter is insanely affordable, you can grab it at Ulta and Target. They have a few shades but "Ritualistic" is this white highlighter with golden undertones in it, it is stunning. Very smooth and buttery, great pigmentation, and the pan is large so it'll last you a while.

Recently, I found the Wet n Wild Megaglo Illuminating Palette in "Catwalk Pink" and decided to give it a try, not knowing that I would absolutely fall in love with it. For only $5, not only do you get highly pigmented highlighters and a blush, but you get a HUGE pan. I was shocked at how good this highlighting palette is. It's basically like a bigger version of the Ofra Cosmetics one. You get a champagne highlight, a white highlight, a blush stripe and a bronzey shimmer stripe. Highly recommended!

Okay, so has anybody ever heard of the brand Essence? They're a small brand that started at Ulta, but at the beginning of 2016, they made their way into Target. When I first heard of them, I was collecting nail polish at the time and bought 2 of their nail polishes, which were really good by the way. Their products are shockingly good for such a cheap price. I was strolling down the cosmetic aisles at Target and decided I wanted to try and find a new highlighter (like I needed another one, lol) and BEHOLD... I saw this gorgeous white shimmer eyeshadow sitting on the shelf by itself for only $2! What!? How can you beat a price like that? I trusted it and bought it, because Target doesn't have testers. Let me tell you, it is SO buttery, like insanely smooth and buttery. And it makes a beautiful highlight, even for the inner corner of the eyes and on the brow bone.

So I know it's crazy, but this next one is a lipstick by NYC. My sister-in-law gave it to me so I can't tell you how much it is exactly or if they even sell it anymore, but we all know NYC is a fairly cheap brand with some pretty good products, much like Wet n Wild. It's this really shimmery lipstick that I'd probably never wear on my lips in public but it makes for a good cream highlighter. It's a little on the darker side but it works great if you're doing a super bronzed look. The shade is called "Golden One."

This next one is by L'oreal and it's in the shade "Frosted Icing," that right there already tells you that it's a nice highlighting shade. I believe I got it for around $5. It's right in between being sheer and pigmented, so it's not like DAYUM but it's not bleh either, you get me? Lol.

These last two are by MAC Cosmetics and they are eyeshadows. The first shade in "Nylon" and the 2nd is "Crystal Avalanche." I bought Nylon a couple years ago at the MAC Store, it was around $15, most of their eyeshadows are around that price. I went in originally looking for an actual highlighter but it was sold out, so the guy who worked there recommended me the Nylon eyeshadow which was basically a "mini version," in his words. Right off the bat, it is a very shimmery and pigmented eyeshadow, it's even beautiful on the eyelids, where it belongs hahaha. Crystal Avalanche was given to me by my mom, along with a few other eyeshadows from MAC, including my favorite "Cranberry" (still my favorite to this day.) The two are very similar except Nylon is a frost and Crystal Avalanche is a Veluxe Pearl, so the frost is a little more pigmented, but overall they're both very good and very similar.

I even use eyeshadows from palettes such as the Lime Crime Venus palette, Lorac Mega Pro 2 and Pro 2 palettes, the Morphe 35O and more. Even the highlighters in the Lorac Pro Contour Palette and NYX Contour Palette are both so amazing.

And that concludes my favorite highlighters, so far ;) I hope I was able to help you pick a great highlighter! Most of them are fairly affordable which is awesome! I should also mention that yes, they do last all day. You don't need to spend a crap ton of money to get a good quality product, the drug store industry has been coming out with some amazing stuff lately! Hahaha.

Thanks for reading!
